Roller Coaster Project
Last week, Mrs. Mote’s 8th grade classes had fun making a science project. Since they were learning about friction, gravity, and inertia, they started a project. In the project they had to build roller coasters. 8th grader, Makenzie Johnson says that, “Roller coasters use all of these forces to make the roller coaster go as fast or slow as they want.” The tools they use was a piece of black foam, marbles, and tape. The requirements were that they had to have 2 loops, a increasing hill, and a turn. I asked 8th grader, Markuevia Johnson says, “It was fun, and a great way to learn about forces and motion.” They got to use creativity in the project by naming their roller coaster. They also got to make a commercial to persuade people to ride their roller coaster. Overall, students said the project was fun, and wrapped up what they learned about.
