Concert Festival
Claire Cronin
Within the past few months, our music teams have been going to an event referred to as Concert Festival, officially known as Concert Performance Assessment. In this, we perform and sight read for an overall rating of Superior, Excellent, Good, or Poor. Superior is the highest score, while Poor is the lowest. The Muller Road Intermediate and Advanced Band went in March, and came back with the Intermediate score of Excellent and the Advanced score of Superior. The Orchestra group went in March as well, and returned with a score of Excellent. The Chorus group went in April, and they came back with a score of Excellent. Lauren Collins, an 8th Grade Chorus student, when asked about their group performance, replied, "We, as a group, had an amazing performance, and a not so amazing sight-singing performance. Though, to point some things out: we had perfect posture, we used our vowels and diction, and overall did very well." Jerry Windhorn, when asked about his opinion of the experience, replied, "I found myself having a wonderful and interesting experience." Congratulations to all music students!
